E^ln(2x+8)=x^2

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf e^{ln(2x+8)}=x^2\\ \quad \\ \textit{recall that }\quad ln = log_e\\ \textit{keep in mind, log cancellation rule of } a^{log_ax} = x\qquad thus\\ \quad \\ e^{ln(2x+8)}=x^2\implies e^{log_e(2x+8)}=x^2 \implies 2x+8 = x^2\) and I think you can get it from there as well

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

mind you you'd end up with a quadratic equation, and thus, 2 answers \(\bf 0 = x^2-2x-8\)
