I plan on taking the EdX course 6.00.1x Introduction to Computer Science and Programming that starts soon. Will this resource be useful and legal under EdX rules? Thanks in advance!
Isn't this link on the MIT OCW website? I assume this site is what they recommend for communications.
Yes it is on that site, but not specifically on the EdX website that I saw. I believe EdX has it's own forums (first time student with them) and they monitor it for their Honor System. So I wasn't sure if discussions here are outside of their monitoring and perhaps against the Honor System. I guess I just didn't want to assume anything.
I do not think anyone should ask for answers to new problem sets here. You might be able to find study groups and work on problems together. You may need to indicate the names of your study partners on your homework.
Exactly as @Richard_C said; this forum is perfect for discussing any edX subject at all, but the honor code that is posted on edX holds equally here as well. Come for help, but no answers ;)
feel free to use this - some of us have done the edX course. The course forum/discussion board on the edX site was pretty busy when I took it. sometimes this place can be kinda slow
I felt as though it was ok to use help from these forums for "understanding" things if you felt you needed more clarification. But if you are coming here to try and get people to do the work for you and it is obvious you dont understand the assignment then you may not get the "answers" you are looking for, people here are VERY willing to help with teaching.
I definitely don't want to have people "do my work for me". I just wanted to make sure it's okay to come here for the EdX course, as apposed to the self-paced open course ware. I feel my question has been answered, so thank you all for your replies.
yep - this was listed as a resource for the one i took
