Geometry 4 Online

m - 1 = 9m + 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m - 1 = 9m + 15 m=9m+16 -8m=16 m=16/-8 m=-2

@jdjrferg4 please do not just give the answer. I assume you want to solve for \(m\)? Here is an \(example\): \(m - 3 = 9m + 20\) Get m on one side: \(m - 9m = 3 + 20\) Combine like terms: \(-8m = 23\) Divide each side by \(-8\): \(\dfrac{-8m}{-8} = \dfrac{23}{-8}\) \(\dfrac{\cancel{-8}m}{\cancel{-8}} = \dfrac{23}{-8}\) \(m = \dfrac{-23}{8}\)
