I really really really need help so please please plese help. Question: If the United States had not followed the idea of manifest destiny, would its national security have been compromised?

If the US was not bordered by the two oceans it's isolationist period would not of happened which allowed it to grow into a world power. Whether by foresight or chance it was needed in the twentieth century, but its a shame that we profited and still do from the wars.
