Help with domain question please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the domain algebraically of the following functions. State the domain in set and interval notation. f(x) = 5 + (square root of 3x - 6) g(x) = (x-1) / (square root of x - 9) g(x) = (x - 1) / (x^2 - 9)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

assumption is they're real valued functions

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so, two things :- 1) the thing inside sqrt cannot be negative 2) thing bottom thing cannot be 0

OpenStudy (zale101):

What are all the possible x guys that you can stick into this equation? but be careful the bad x is what makes the denominator 0

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

*the bottom cannot be 0
