Hey OSers!! .Long time....... 1.Do molecules with two central atom exist??? If yes,how do we find out their hybridisation??? 2.For molecules having two central atoms,like in some organic......Which atom should we hybridise???

two central atom exist ? center is always one so its called center ? For molecules having two central atoms,like in some organic.???? which organic

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

@chmvijay for eg. C2H4 How h we know it'll undergo sp2 hybridsation?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

bcoz carbon has only three covalent bonds :) so it should be Sp2 only :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example C2H2......Arent both the C atoms considered central???or are they??? Pardon me coz Chem is my weak link!!

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

not exactly they are called central :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are they or aren't they cntral

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

they are not central can only come when u have octahedra , tetrhedra , squareplanar :)|dw:1380378328348:dw|
