A theory is a hypothesis (best guess) that agrees with experiment (evidence). Theories can change if we come up with better hypotheses, or discover better evidence.

because we people used to modify the science ,every body used to define the things and verify with experiments ,or otherwise theories are modified if our theoretical results are not matching with exp.
