A few others have suggested a form of HTML editor. This might be a way to implement it, but the balance is that I would want something that does not involve a new rendering engine. That way there is not really a load jump for it. Since markup languages can end up as HTML in the posting, it does not necessarily need any more rendering than the browser provides.
