When you are giving the slope, do you need to include the x? For example: y=2x+3 Do you write the slope as 2, are do you have to include the x as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope is just 2 and you dont have to include the x but for the y intercept formula (y=mx+b) you need to have the x variable next to the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well actually the slope would be 2/1 since it needs to be rise over run lol :]

But that still equals to 2.

yea i know but you have to go up 2 and two the right one, even if you just write two. you cant just go up 2 and be done you have to move to the right as well. but in the equation you write just 2. just remember to go up 2 and to the right 1 (or whatever number it would happen to be)
