Pros and cons of graduating 1 year early from highschool??????

I've been thinking about this option a lot lately, if i wanted to graduate next year, all i need to do is take english 3 online in the summer. I'm currently a sophomore in high school.

If you are going to college, it will let you get started sooner.

It depends what you're thinking of doing during that gap year after you graduate. If you attend college, that might be better than just sitting at home. Another good idea is to maybe find a part-time job to earn some money towards college, if you think money or financial aid might be an issue for you or your family in college.

that's an interesting question. I presume your going to college one year early. Therefore, you would probably graduation one year early too.

Pros -
You're done earlier, you get a jump start on life, while everyone else is at school
If you plan to go on for other degrees, you'll have an extra year to do so
You'll be independent earlier
You can get a full-time job earlier and start saving for retirement and working up the ranks sooner

Cons-
You'll be out of the house sooner (this could be bad)
It kinda rushes through your teen years
You may not be financially ready for that
You'll REALLY be working hard your high school years

Solution - what if you took an online or community college for your first year? You can stay at home, and still hang out with all your friends. Then, when everyone goes off to college, you can too! You'll just be a year ahead!
