A club is planning on printing custom t-shirts for the 2013 academic year. - The company FitTees' set-up fee is $50 - The first 50 shirts are priced at $12.99 each - Any additional shirts are priced at $11.99 each A competing company, Custom Ts, charges a set-up fee of $400 with t-shirts priced at $11.69 each. Find the formulas for the total cost of ordering n shirts from each company. For what size of an order is it more economical to go with Custom Ts?

Hmm, you have to set up a piece wise function for the first huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I was thinking :/

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Have you started this problem at all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've tried just a little lost.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

You can at least set up the second one right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

or the first one, so far I think it would be something like: \[y=12.99x+50 \] Where \[x \le 50\]

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

@dan815 help me out bud >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for x>50 the second function can be written y=$12.99 *50 +50 + x*$11.99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry guys I fell asleep and forgot to check this! Thanks appreciate it!

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Anytime :)
