Mickey bought 2 books from the bargain bin at his school's book fair and paid four dollars. If buying books from the bargain bin follows a direct variation, how much did his sister pay for the 6 books she bought? eight dollars twelve dollars twenty-four dollars thirty-six dollars

OpenStudy (yellowlegoguy99):

I think its 8, what do you think @cwrw238

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

he bought 2 books for 4 dollars and there is a direct variation followed so we can write c = 2x where c = cost and x = number of books bought so if he bought 6 books what would be the cost?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

the 2 comes from 4 / 2

OpenStudy (yellowlegoguy99):

Ohhh thanks

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

yes c = 2*6 = 12
