really need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is the problem

OpenStudy (j-cross18):

That is simple do you know how to plug and chug lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain how to do it?

OpenStudy (j-cross18):

Ok have you tried that already lol

OpenStudy (j-cross18):

Ok umm... you take the first answer and plug that in for x or whatever the variable is and then solve for it and if that doesn't work move to the next answer and so on. Do you know now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no can you solve this one for me?

OpenStudy (j-cross18):

Hahaha let me see and y cant you it

hero (hero):

@magan, you only need to evaluate f(2) for f(x). Don't worry about \(f^{-1}\). It isn't applicable for this problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me how you would do it? @Hero

hero (hero):

You have \(f(x) = 3x + 1\) Simply plug in x = 2 into the function like so: \(f(2) = 3(2) + 1\)

hero (hero):

Now simplify the right side.
