I think it'd be pretty cool if OS has something that said what the person was doing online when you see their name. Like for example, there can be "helping," "learning," "chatting," etc. Kinda like a status =)

I think it'd be beneficial because sometimes I go on just to ask a question, and then have to log off because it's a school day so i can finish my homework. So it'd be nice to have a way to let people know :)

There kind of is a status.... sometimes I find it mostly says that the person is just looking around. But I also think it would be a good idea if this idea would emcompass question-asking, question-answering, and chatting (like at the all-too random math chat lol)

We do have a status.  It updates when you are in a question.  Just looking around means you are probably in a chat.
