what effect did 9/11 have on the US?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It had a lot of effects. The US went to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Patriot Act was passed, TSA screenings at airports (queues, shoes, bins, and no liquid bottles), and a focus on the war on terror are only the tip of the iceberg.

9/11 tightened the us security system. that incident had a few planes hyjacked and crashed. Also the twin towers were the world trade center so that affected businness.

9/11 was the day that america found out that we are not invulnerable. as some one who lost friends at the trade towers it hits a little close to home. 9/11 was a terrorist act that changed the way the america views its boarder security. before 9/11 there was little to no screening like do to day. they had the xray machines and checkers but that was minor compared to the way that they do it today. 9/11 saw how isolated we as Americans are in our views that we were untouchable. there was a lack of sharing information between the various intelligence agency here in the USA. It caused us to invade Afghanistan because it was the home of the largest concentration of Al Qaeda and began Enduring Freedom which has cost America the lives of almost ten thousand soldiers. My brothers and sisters in arms have laid down their lives in order to protect our freedom and our way of life. We learned that America can not afford to be isolated in our boarders any more we need to be more proactive in our national defense instead of worrying about was it happening around the world we need to pay more attention to what is going on with in our boarders in order to prevent some thing like 9/11 from happening again. Every year on the anniversary of 9/11 the intelligence and military in the USA goes in to full alert in order to make sure 9/11 does not happen again. But it did happen just not on USA soil the Bengali raid on our consulate was another attack on the USA. So the biggest thing 9/11 did was make us aware that we are not as safe as we think we are
