how were the colonists treated by the native americans when they first arrived?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

depends on which colonists you are talking about... the pilgrims were treated with respect and became great friends with the natives and for those who settled in Jamestown, it took awhile to for the natives to get friendly, which later led to the marriage of john Rolfe and Pocahontas so I guess you could say that the first colonists were welcomed for a while until we got greedy and ignorant....

They were treated like gods, because of their clothing
