If there are 3 points on a line segment labled A M and C (M is midpoint) A to M is x+20 and M to C is 5x-4 then hiw do you find AM?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@directrix the endpoints of 2 segments ate given. Find each segment length. Tell wether the segments are congruent. AB: a(7,2) B(0,-3) CD: (-4,12) D(-1,4) how do I do this??

Directrix (directrix):

Isn't this the problem we just did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No it's a different one

Directrix (directrix):

Hold on a second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

Directrix (directrix):

This is not it? http://openstudy.com/users/directrix#/updates/524a3292e4b0e0b655980497

Directrix (directrix):

Okay, I finally see the question. the endpoints of 2 segments ate given. Find each segment length. Tell wether the segments are congruent. AB: a(7,2) B(0,-3) CD: (-4,12) D(-1,4) how do I do this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that's the one

Directrix (directrix):

Use the distance formula. See attached. I'll work out AB as an example for you and then you can work out CD. Okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

Directrix (directrix):

A (0, -3) and B (7,2) |dw:1380600337603:dw|
