i would like someone to explain this to me, because i'm and my friends are at odds, half of us including me is saying the answer is 9 while the other half is saying 1. it's a simple question 6 ÷ 2(1+2)

6÷2(1+2) 6÷2(3) 6/6=1

@heather040200 i see the logics behind, it's the basic rules of operation. 1 was my first choice, but i just cant shake the feeling it is wrong.

Do the work inside the parentheses first. Then do the division and multiplication in order from left to right.
