a pattern requires a seam of at least 5/8 in. Rachel sewed 1/2 in. wide. Did he sew the seam wide enough? Explain.

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

At least 5/8 means it needs to be greater than or equal to 5/8 Is 1/2 less than, greater than, or less than 5/8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All you have to do is take 5/8 and 1/2 and find a common bottom number. (Denominator) since 8 is the GCD (greatest common denominator) u have to multiply 2 by 4 to get 8. And multiply the top number too. (Numerator) and you get 4x1= 4 so now ur new simplified fraction is 4/8 = 5/8 so no he didn't sew it wide enough
