ive had this question a few times so you just multiply to get the area listed inside the figure?

well since the area of a square is l*w it would be x-4 * x-4. basically toy know the square root of 64 is 8 so ultimately you want to fine what minus 4 equals 8. which is twelve. the equaton answers are funny.

the answer should be 12x12 because they want you to solve for x. but they give you the answer instead 8x8=64
