solve the system by elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know where to start?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly suck at this so no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mkay, no worries:) I'll do this one step by step, so you can see how it's done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much

5(x+5y-4z=-10 ) ( get two equations and find a variable that can be eliminated) 4 ( 2x-y+5z=-9) (by multiplying a number by the whole equation, like 5 & 4) 5x+25y-20z=50 ( as you can see -20+20=0 see eliminate z and add/subtract the rest) 8x-4y+20z=-36 3x-29y=14 <------- Keep this equation for later use 2x-y+5z=-9 (get two equations and do the same thing) 2x-10y-5z=0 (I used the second equation and the last one) (z gets eliminated ) 4x-11y=-9 <----------- use this equation with the other one -4( 3x-29y=14) (Do the same thing, multiply and eliminate) 3(4x-11y=-9) -12x+116y=-56 (x is eliminated) 12x-33y-27 83y=-83 (y=-1 , so now we plug it in into an equation and from there we will get y=-1 the rest of the solutions) x+5(-1)-4z=-10 x-1-4z=-10 +1 +1 x-4(0)=-9 +4 +4 x=-5 x=-5 ,y=-1,z=0

Sorry,if It's not so well explained.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also to check if your solutions are correct just plug them into an equation (-5)+5(-1)-4(0)=-10 -5-5+0=-10

thank you so much!!!! that actually helped a lot :)
