YZ has endpoints Y(-1,-11) and Z(-1,-3). Find the length of YZ to the nearest tenth.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Have you considered the Distance Formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but I'm not sure how to solve with the Distance Formula. I'm awful at math so I get confused really easy with these kinds of equations. :(

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Rule #1 - Never talk like that again. Rule #2 - Just ease into it. One step at a time. \(\sqrt{[(-3)-(-11)]^{2}+[(-1)-(-1)]^{2}}\)

Okay, lol :)
