hi, substitute "2" instead of "x" in f(x) and u will get the value f(2) i.e- f(x) = 3x + 1 then do the substitution f(2) =( 3*2) + 1 and BINGO!! u can have ur answer !!!! hope this will help ya!

substitute "7" instead of "x" in f^(-1) = (x - 1)/3 = (7-1)/3 = 6/3 = 2 hope this will help ya!!
