At a certain hospital, 89 children were born in June. If more number of children were born on the 15th of June than on any other day, what is the least number of children that could have been born on the 15th of June?

June has 30 days. If we want the LEAST number of children that could have been born on June 15th, then we need to first assume the most even possible distribution: 3 kids per day for each day except one day, which had 2 kids. so that’s 3x29 + 2x1 = 89. So basically, with the most even distribution possible, the number of kids born on almost every day is 3. Since you know June 15th was actually the biggest baby day, assume that day had 4 kids, and just take 1 baby away from one of the other days to do so. So the answer is 4.
