What is the volume created by rotating the region between the curve y = px+ 1 and the x-axis from x = 1 to x = 3 about the line y = 2? (I just need the set up for the integral, not the answer)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since you're rotating around the line y=2, subtract 2 from the equation so y=px. Then you can proceed to rotate the function as you would if it were about the x axis.

usually a nice idea to draw a pic

after rotation would look something like...

nevermind you don't need the intersection; you are given the bounds of x so now you probably want to use disk method. What is the radius of each disk?|dw:1380669389202:dw|
