Finding the volume of a cone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

V = ⅓BH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

v= 1/3 pi r^2 h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well that's for a circle you have to find the SA

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

The base is already split into 3 parts which have easy areas to find: a 6cm×4cm rectangle, and 2 3cm×4cm triangles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would the volume be 32 cm?

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

The base area = 6×4 + 2(½×3×4) = 36cm² The height is 8 cm. The volume is ⅓ Base × height =⅓×36×8 =12×8 = 96 cm³

Ohh ok i understand now, thanks!
