An airplane has airspeed 275 km/hr and heading 45.0 degrees. If the wind is 30.0km/hr, 340.0 degrees, what is the plane's velocity with respect to the earth?

Can somebody explain how to do this sort of problem? I thought it was just adding the x and y components of each speed, then finding the speed that those added together makes, but it doesn't come out right, meaning I'm doing something wrong.
