How do you solve -8< 8+y? There's a line below the less sign -

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

so your < sign looks like this: \(\le\) right? okay so basically what you do is solve like a regular equation. First I want to see you try @Xjennifurx so can tell you where you go wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah that's the sign

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

So would you mind attempting to work out this problem for me? @Xjennifurx ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does it equal 16

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you wouldn't say equal, but less than or equal to because that is what the sign is saying. and it would actually be -16, as you are adding two negatives

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so it's -16 equal to y
