AbigailR01, you had a question and it was "3x^2-17x+20 factored is?" (3x-5) (x-4) how do I come up with this answer, Explain how to think when it comes to factoring? Couple thing to have in mind in this equation. 1) the constants of the resulting equation have to be factors of 20 2) they both have to be negative since they form/make a positive number when multiplied times each other and negative when added to each other 3) the variable-numbers will be 3x and x (or/same as 1x), since 3 is a prime number and has only factors: itself (which is 3) and 1, just like any prime number. 4) Constants can't be 20 and 1 OR 10 and 2 (please ask y not, if u don't c y) t/f they must be 4 and 5, (both r negative as I explained in number 2 of my algorithm) You have 2 choices either (3x-5) (x-4) or (3x-4) (x-5) the second choice doesn't work, since it forms 3x^2-19x+20, 19 instead of 17, THEREFORE the answer is (3x-5) (x-4) (the first option) Need more explanations? Please give me a medal if you think that this answer deserves it. Thank You!

TyroneJ, is this your question? 1. Plot points a(2,2) b(5,2) and c(4,5) and then reflect ABC across the x-axis and make A'B'C Since you are reflecting across the x-axis the x coordinates will NOT change, the y coordinates will, they will have the same absolute value except that they will be negative the answer is, a(2,-2) b(5,-2) and c(4,-5). (If you would draw a triangle from this original points, the triangle formed from reflected across the x-axis points would form a reflection like a mirror, facing away from each other) Can you please explain to me what do you mean by make the A'B'C?
