The formula for the hypotenuse is a^2+b^2=c^2 \[6^2+12^2= c^2\] \[36+144=c^2\] \[160=c^2\] \[c=\sqrt{160}\] \[c=\sqrt{16} \times \sqrt{10} = 4\sqrt{10}\] the answer is \[4\sqrt{10}\] or approximately 12.65 Any questions?
