ok so based on your diagram and given. the vector of the ball will go on forever. there is not mention of the k or friction factor of the surface is rolling on. velocity would be a positive number but a negative sign may be present to show direction. because the line of the ball is a vector it needs both magnitude and direction. as for the rocket, is it going horizontally in the air , is gravity associated with the problem. are they on earth?
