in a college math class consisting of 10 students, the maximum score on a test was 120 points. the point totals for the 10 students are given below in the stemplot. 7:27 8:6 9:38 10:3799 11:5 which of the following statements is true? A) the median is 100.5 b) since there are 5 stems, the median must be in the third stem (between 90-100) c) we can compute the mean from the data presented in the stemplot d) because of the small sample size the mean cannot be computed e) because the data has been plotted, the mean can no longer be determined

c

how do you know for sure?

OpenStudy (ankit042):

skinny do you know how to find the mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you add them all up and divide by how ever many numbers there are

OpenStudy (ankit042):

Yes! now can you read the stem plot?

OpenStudy (ankit042):

We can write all the numbers as 72,77,86....... so we have numbers for all the students hence we can find the mean

OpenStudy (ankit042):

I suggest you try to find median as well and check the first option
