A train of length 100m is travelling at a speed of 50 km/h. A horse is running alongside at a speed of 56 km/h. How long will it take for the horse to overtake the train?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could do this in 2 ways. one is to set up equations in whic the times are equivalent , using the rates given and the distance travelled by the train is 100 m less than th distab=nce travelled by the horse. Or you could figure the difference in speed and see how long it would take to go 100m at that rate. either way you'll get the same answer.

Thank you, this is helpful :)

Are you there? What is the difference in speed of the horse and train?
