Simplify the expression. (Medal for whoever gets it, I'm so confused ;-;)

\[\cos ^2x + \sin ^2x = 1 \]\[1 + \cot ^2x = \csc ^2x\]\[\tan ^2x + 1 = \sec ^2x\] So those are the identities! So the top part of your problem would equal 1. Then, the denominator looks like a manipulated version of the 1+ cot^2x= csc^2x. So I'd say the answer is -1.
