Few buildings were constructed, as architecture was frowned upon during the Islamic Golden Age. Buildings tended to be decorated with both Christian and Islamic symbols. Buildings were designed without walls so that worshippers could be seen praying outside. Buildings tended to be ornately decorated with geometric patterns.
