My favorite! Quadratic formula states: ax^2+bx+c=0 x=(-b +/- sqrt of (b^2-4ac))/2a In your case, a=2, b=9, c=4 (-9 +/- sqrt of (9^2-4*2*4))/2*2 simplify that and I will help you finish.
