Trig / physics general question - please help! for an object that is falling 55 degrees below the horizontal .. would you use sin(55) or sin(-55)

I am trying to figure out the acceleration of a skydiver who jumped out of a faster plane at an angle of 54 degrees below the horizontal when her velocity is 27.9m/s and her mass is 49kg. give is g-9.8m/s^2

i used fd=1/2kv^2 and solved for k from the terminal velocity given in part 1 of the problem.
