does the -9 stay negative when using the quadratic i.e. b=9 or b=-9

'cause "b" is the coefficient of term "x"
in the quadratic formula -b=(-9) means -(-9)=9

yes = to 0
it would be .... b = 9 if u take the coefficient of "-x" term
