**OS MEETING**

OpenStudy (anonymous.):

We gotta find out what can be done to stop the lagging ! As I fellow user of this site I want to be apart into helping this site become better and less lagging and less constant updates with nothing done to the site.

thomaster (thomaster):

Thanks for the effort, but there's not really much that you can do about this problem currently. The problem is caused by the way this site is developed and can only be fixed by the development team (if there is one). OpenStudy was recently moved to new servers so it should at least give a little less lag. I'm sure @Preetha can tell you more about it.

OpenStudy (anonymous.):

:) I think the user should have the choice of deleting there accounts because OS is going have a bunch of empty accounts on here with taken usernames that people cant have

thomaster (thomaster):

Well we do not allow users to delete their account because everything is linked. When someone gave you 50 medals, and he deleted his account, all those medals would be gone, which means your smartscore will decrease. Also possible good help this person gave will be gone and conversations would look like someone talking to himself. Also users would be able to delete their account to erase cheating tracks.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Also deleting accounts won't make it run faster.

OpenStudy (ja1):

The problem is neither the servers or the accounts, think of it like running Windows 95 on an Alienware computer, sure you got the specs but the software isn't enough unfortunately :/

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, the problem as ir was describes some time ago was that the sharding system was not fully supported the way the software was written so it is limited to a single instance when it really needs multiples.

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

well... then... it still doesnt have multiple x'D

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

No, they went to local cache for read with centralized writes, so not the same as sharding but it allowed for multiple servers,

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

True... but look at how that turned out... ._.
