True or false. If (7x+4) is a factor of some polynomial function F, then 4/7 is a zero of F. Please help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be false if \(7x+4=0\) then \(7x=-4\) and so \(x=-\frac{4}{7}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although of course it COULD also be a zero, for example if the other factor is \(7x-4\) but i would go with false because that is what the teacher wants

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooh I get it now thank you very much!
