Please help Is This true or false? Whitman's poetry addressed people and experiences that society considered taboo.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope this helps in a way. In Whitman's generation, people would talk about death but not sex. However, in our generation, we talk about sex and not death. Sex has become a taboo. One can find divinity in himself through his own experiences, not in someone else's words, practices, or creeds.
