Help me solve this simple calculus problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let f(x)= (x if x < 0 (x^2 if 0 < x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let f(x)= (x if x < 0 (x^2 if 0 < x <(or equal to) 2 ( 8-x if x > 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's the equation

OpenStudy (psymon):

Do what with it though? Maybe a limit problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, a limit problem

OpenStudy (psymon):

And we're supposed to find or determine what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to get the coordinates so i can graph it

OpenStudy (psymon):

All you have to do is graph it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhm, but i'm supposed to plug in numbers in those x(s)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

problem is idk which one to solve exactly.

OpenStudy (psymon):

Could you just state the whole problem so this isnt a guessing game? If the problemis long then maybe a screenshot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's pretty much the whole problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it says ... a) sketch the graph of f

OpenStudy (psymon):

Well, do you know how to sketch all 3 pieces?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll give you an example.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x +2 of x <(or equal to) -2 ( 3x if x > -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= (-3) +2 = -1 so its (-3,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i plugged in a number for on the first equation becuz you're looking for a number that is greater or equal to 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pardon, smaller or equal to.
