x^-1=1/4

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

OK the answer is 4!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\(x^{-1}=\dfrac{1}{x}\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

x^-1 is like 1 / x^1 which is the same as 1/x

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

is 1/x=1/4 what is x? get it?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

And: \(x^{-2}=\dfrac{1}{x^2}\) So you can move stuff from above to below a fraction if a negative exponent is involved.
