Solve (2y + 1)/5 - (2 + 7y)/15 > 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2/3) i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/3 isn't an answer choice

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

multiply the inequality by 5 2y + 1 - 3(2 + 7y) > 10/3 2y + 1 - 6 - 21y > 10/3 -23y - 5 > 10/3 -23y > 10/3 + 5 -23y > 10/3 + 15/3 -23y > 25/3 (divide by -23) y < (25/3) / -23 y < 25/3 * - 1/23 y < -25/69 Is this an answer choice ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what are your answer choices ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o maybe this -(1/5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y>or equal to -9 Y< or equal to -9 y> or equal to 0 Y> or equal to 0 or y< or equal to -9

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I know the answer...just not sure how to get it... answer is y < -9. Did you forget to put an equal sign in the problem ? Just asking, because there is an equal sign in al the answer choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it's weird the problem had no equal sign but answer choices did
