Minutes per gallon, because the independent quantity is the gallons ^^ that seems to be the answer in this case, because you KNOW how many gallons you have in this case (so it's the independent variable) - you don't know how many minutes it'll last.

Well it's a confusing question... my initial answer was gallons/minute, since that's usually more useful...
