Hexagon DEFGHI is translated on the coordinate plane below to create hexagon D'E'F'G'H'I'. Which rule represents the translation of hexagon DEFGHI to hexagon D'E'F'G'H'I'? (x, y)→(x - 8, y - 7) (x, y)→(x - 7, x - 8) (x, y)→(x - 4, x - 5) (x, y)→(x - 5, y - 4)

hmm okay..i think its the 3rd one im not certain though

hero (hero):

Basically, what you do is simply take any point then translate it vertically, then horizontally. the point D' is the graph of point D shifted downward by 7 and shifted to the left by 8: \(D = (2,5)\) \(D' = ((2 - \color\red{8}), (5 - \color\red{7})) = (-6,-2)\) If you look at the position of D' you'll see that this is true. If you test all the other points, they will also agree correspondingly.

In other words, just to avoid any confusion, the first answer choice is correct.

Ohhh right yeah the 1st one

Thank you!! I appreciate it. :)
