What i the equation of the vertical line that passes through the point (6,-5). Explain why this is the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since its a vertical line, it must be x = ? as only that would be give us a vertical line. Since the coordinates of the equation are x = 6, y = -5 Then the equation of the vertical line is x = 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt it be 6? since its on the y axis and the y axis is a vertical line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try draw the line x = 2 and y = 2 The x = 2 will be vertical while the y = 2 will be horizontal |dw:1381028522180:dw|
