|x-5| > 0 Absolute values are non-negative (positive or zero). The ONLY concern then, is |x-5| = 0. The answer is ALL Real Numbers except for the solution to |x-5| = 0

No, not quite. There are no numbers both greater than AND less than 5. There are lots of numbers either greater than OR less than 5. :-)
