Solve for x: 5 − (x + 5) > −2(x + 4)

Set the inequality sign to an equal sign then solve for x like normally.

5-(x+5) = - 2(x+4) ?

You solve it as if it was an equal sign, but you actually keep the sign there. The only difference with equalities is that whenever you multiply or divide by a negative number, you have to flip the inequality sign. Sorry, I should of been more specific
