A shell is fired from the ground with an initial speed of 1.70 x 10^3 m/s (approximitely five times the speed of sound) at an initial angle of 55.0 degrees to the horizontal. Neglecting air resistance, find.. A.) the shell's horizontal range B.) the amount of time the shell is in motion

OpenStudy (jack1):

so what is the horizontal component of the shells' speed? @verooo97 ?

OpenStudy (jack1):

so use triangle theory (ie pythag theorum) to find v horizontal and v vertical then use v (vertical) to determine time in the air use time in the air and v horizontal to determine distance travelled (range)

OpenStudy (jack1):

does that all make sense @verooo97 ?
